Logbook Controls (Desktop)

Logbook Controls are Windows controls embedded directly in your SCADA HMI screens.

Viewing Notes for Equipment

  1. Navigate to the equipment screen in your SCADA system
  2. The Logbook panel shows recent notes for that equipment
  3. Click a note to view full details
  4. Use scroll or pagination to see older notes

Creating a New Note

  1. Click New Note button in the Logbook panel
  2. Enter the note title (brief summary)
  3. Enter the note body (detailed description)
  4. Select note type:
    • General: Standard observation
    • Maintenance: Work performed
    • Abnormal Condition: Equipment issue
  5. Click Save

Recording an Abnormal Condition

When equipment is not operating normally:

  1. Click Abnormal Condition button
  2. Describe the abnormal condition
  3. Select severity if prompted
  4. Click Save
  5. The equipment will be flagged until condition is cleared

Clearing an Abnormal Condition

When equipment returns to normal:

  1. Find the active abnormal condition note
  2. Click Clear Condition
  3. Enter resolution notes
  4. Click Confirm

Logbook WebClient (Browser)

The WebClient provides browser-based access to Logbook from within your SCADA network.

Accessing WebClient

  1. Open your web browser
  2. Navigate to: http://your-scada-server/logbook
  3. Log in with your SCADA credentials
  • Equipment Tree: Browse equipment hierarchy on the left
  • Search: Find equipment by name or tag
  • Recent: Quick access to recently viewed equipment
  • Favorites: Your bookmarked equipment

Creating Notes

  1. Navigate to the equipment
  2. Click Add Note tab
  3. Fill in note details:
    • Title
    • Body
    • Type (General, Maintenance, Abnormal)
  4. Optionally attach photos or files
  5. Click Save Note

Viewing Note History

  1. Navigate to the equipment
  2. Click Notes tab
  3. View list of all notes
  4. Use filters to narrow results:
    • Date range
    • Note type
    • Author
  5. Click any note to view details
