Logbook Controls (Desktop)
Logbook Controls are Windows controls embedded directly in your SCADA HMI screens.
Viewing Notes for Equipment
- Navigate to the equipment screen in your SCADA system
- The Logbook panel shows recent notes for that equipment
- Click a note to view full details
- Use scroll or pagination to see older notes
Creating a New Note
- Click New Note button in the Logbook panel
- Enter the note title (brief summary)
- Enter the note body (detailed description)
- Select note type:
- General: Standard observation
- Maintenance: Work performed
- Abnormal Condition: Equipment issue
- Click Save
Recording an Abnormal Condition
When equipment is not operating normally:
- Click Abnormal Condition button
- Describe the abnormal condition
- Select severity if prompted
- Click Save
- The equipment will be flagged until condition is cleared
Clearing an Abnormal Condition
When equipment returns to normal:
- Find the active abnormal condition note
- Click Clear Condition
- Enter resolution notes
- Click Confirm
Logbook WebClient (Browser)
The WebClient provides browser-based access to Logbook from within your SCADA network.
Accessing WebClient
- Open your web browser
- Navigate to:
http://your-scada-server/logbook - Log in with your SCADA credentials
Navigation
- Equipment Tree: Browse equipment hierarchy on the left
- Search: Find equipment by name or tag
- Recent: Quick access to recently viewed equipment
- Favorites: Your bookmarked equipment
Creating Notes
- Navigate to the equipment
- Click Add Note tab
- Fill in note details:
- Title
- Body
- Type (General, Maintenance, Abnormal)
- Optionally attach photos or files
- Click Save Note
Viewing Note History
- Navigate to the equipment
- Click Notes tab
- View list of all notes
- Use filters to narrow results:
- Date range
- Note type
- Author
- Click any note to view details
